In Memoriam: Elaine M. Smith

Elaine M. Smith, PhD, MBA, professor emerita of epidemiology in the UI College of Public Health, passed away peacefully in Chapel Hill, NC, at the age of 75 on Jan. 21, 2021.

Muscatine Heart Study marks 50 years

Five decades on, the Muscatine Heart Study is still going strong. Trudy Burns, professor emerita in epidemiology, joined the project in 1982 and took over as lead investigator in 2005.
